Welcome to an exciting term with Miss Hawthorne, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Cartwright

So far, we have read a variety of stories including Michael Morpurgo’s Beowulf which had the children gripped from our first read around the campfire. We are also working hard on our recall of the timetables up to 12 to prepare for our National 'Multiplication Tables Check' (MTC) in June.

We are encouraging our children to use the important word ‘yet’ to develop our mind-sets e.g. I am finding this aspect challenging at the moment and cannot do this yet. The children are learning to believe in themselves and are growing in confidence, ready to tackle the challenges we face. Together, we are becoming resilient learners. 

This year we are very excited about our learning adventure, which even includes a trip to the Harry Potter Studios for a script writing workshop.  

I am really looking forward to magical year ahead with Year 4!
