A & B Team Netball Tournament - March 2024

Well done to our A and B netballers for playing with enthusiasm on Thursday in their respective District Tournament. Our A’s could have gone further with a bit more luck and lost one of their group games 2-1 to the eventual winners. Both our A and B Teams finished third. Thank you to Mrs Davidson, Miss Hawthorne, Penny and Ellis for supporting and coaching the team across the morning.

A Team Football Tournament - March 2024

Our A Team footballers played with heart, although it was not to be our tournament on this occasion. Having not progressed beyond the group stage, competition was tough. The team howeverr conducted themselves well and thank you to Mr Wilson for supporting the team across the afternoon.

Sportshall Athletics Competitions - March 2024

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 indoor athletics team on their brilliant performance on Wednesday, 6th March showing great team spirit and encouragement of each other throughout. Of the nine schools involved, our boys placed 5th, our girls an extremely impressive 2nd and overall therefore, 4th. There were some excellent performances across the afternoon and well done to all who represented the school so well.

Our Year 3 and 4 indoor athletics team were superb last Friday, 8th March and showed great determination, speed and seriously slick baton changing! The team supported each other with enthusiasm and showed real promise. Of the six schools attending, after all track and field events were totalled, by some way our team won the boys event, the girls event and the overall event. The look of surprise and joy when our team realised this was very special and what a brilliant  achievement. Well done to all who represented us so well and contributed to this outcome.
Fantastic Broxbourne!

House Football Competitions

It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 3 and 4 girls representing their houses and having fun at this week’s House Football. The girls matches have now concluded and with 3 points for a win, 2 for a draw and 1 for playing, the final points scores were: Blue Badgers 3, Yellow Foxes 5, and tied on 8 points were Red Squirrels and Green Hedgehogs. The overall winners were Red Squirrels, having scored 8 goals, compared to Green Hedgehogs with 6. Thank you to our Year 6 House Captains and Mr North for running this and well done to all who played. Weather permitting, the final Year 3 and 4 boys matches will be played at 12.30pm next Tuesday. The Y5 and 6 equivalent for boys and girls will take place across the two weeks after half term.

Michelle in Year 6, Georgia H in Year 5 and our Year 6 girls relay team were all District Champions in their respective event final, which is a great achievement. Our Year 6 girls were particularly rapid and the track is still smoking…! Thank you to Mr Beattie, Mr Markham, and Mrs Davidson for preparing and looking after our team so well and to Mrs Gallagher for helping me with the scoring. Fantastic stuff and great team spirit Broxbourne CE Primary School!

Inter Primary Cup - November 2022

Well done to all football and netballers who represented our school on Friday at the District Football and Netball Tournament.  All four teams played well and showed great sportsmanship and  encouragement throughout.  Our netball teams can be proud of their performance.  There was some excellent play and despite not losing a game, they lost out to Roselands who had a better goal average.

Congratulations to Lola for her outstanding play which earned her Player of the Tournament. Well done Lola!  The team all played well and enjoyed the competition immensely and are looking forward to more matches.  Our footballers also played well with our B Team playing with great spirit and finishing joint fifth. SPORTS NEWS 2021/2022

Our Year 3 and 4 football and netballers played very well in last Friday’s District Tournaments.  The footballers finished runners up from the nine schools involved and the netballers came third out of the seven teams. In the netball, our team showed some excellent inter-passing, developing movement and shooting, winning our final game 6-0! Georgia was also named as the Most Valuable Player in the tournament by the John Warner teachers. Our footballers played similarly well and were narrowly pipped in the final 1-0 through an early goal, having topped their group beforehand. Well done to all players for representing our school so well. Thank you to Ms Davidson and Mr Wilson for running the teams.

Well done to all netballers and footballers who represented our school at the Inter Primary Cup.  Having won the A Team tournament recently, hopes were high in both these events and both teams gave good accounts.

Our netballers finished 4th, winning four games and losing two and our footballers narrowly missed out on advancing from the group stage to the semi-finals by just one point, thereby contesting the 5th and 6th play-off match and finishing in 6th. Once more, both sides showed some excellent inter-play and teamwork. Most importantly of all, all players showed great  sportsmanship. Well done to all involved and our thanks to Ms Davidson, Mr Taylor, Mr Markham and Mr Wilson for enabling our children to have this opportunity.

MATCH REPORT FROM OUR KINGFISHER FOOTBALL TEAM—WINNERS OF THE HDSSA DISTRICT A TEAM TOURNAMENT!

Some Year 5 and 6s went to an A Team tournament at Cranbourne school on Tuesday, along with 10 schools. We were in group A and we placed second in our group. At that time, we had conceded one goal and lost only one game.

We then moved on to the semi-finals which was very tense, but we managed to win on penalties after 15 minutes of play.  After that, we advanced to the final against Wormley School, which we won with a goal in the early stages and a last minute save by our goalkeeper.

In the end, it was a fun day out and we even claimed a first place trophy on the way!

George—We were incredible and really deserved the win. And above all, it was a load of fun.

Callum—One of the most fun times in my time at primary school. We all tried our very best and we deserved to win it.

Our fantastic Football and Netball Teams—Our Football B Team won their group, our Football A Team were runners up and our Netball Team came 3rd!  Amazing results for our first tournament in two years!  Well done all.
