Safeguarding Statement

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and staff and expect members of our school community to share this commitment. To verify that all adults who work in our school are suitable, we ensure a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check has been undertaken. We also require appropriate references, explicitly referring to an adult’s suitability to work with young children. All staff are trained in child protection procedures and have the safety of the children in mind at all times. We have policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website. We continually audit our practice to ensure this is up to date and effective. Our Governing Body share this same level of commitment.

We may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. Where possible, we will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

Our Designated Senior Person for Child protection (DSP) is Mr Paul Miller (Headteacher). Our Deputy DSP is Miss Chloe Clifford (Deputy Headteacher). Our Safeguarding Governor is Mrs Irene Winning.

If you have a safeguarding concern, please speak to Mr Miller or Miss Clifford directly.
