A huge well done to our two fantastic teams who took part in the recent Frisbee Festival! Our Broxbourne 1 team put in a brilliant performance, finishing 3rd overall and proudly bringing home bronze medals. Broxbourne 2 also shone on the day, securing a strong 6th place finish.
Both teams showed excellent teamwork, effort and spirit throughout the tournament, and we’re incredibly proud to say they each received a sportsmanship baton for their positive attitude and fair play. Well done to all
involved!
Netball Success!
On Tuesday 17th June, our fantastic Year 5/6 Netball A and B teams took part in an exciting tournament at John Warner School. Both teams showed brilliant teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout every match – and it was wonderful to see them cheering each other on from the sidelines!
We’re so proud to share that the A team finished in 5th place, and the B team achieved an amazing 3rd place – what a brilliant result!
Well done to all the girls – you represented our school beautifully, and we are very proud of you!
We are proud to report that both of our Year 5 and 6 cricket teams performed brilliantly at the District Cricket Festival held at Broxbourne Cricket Club on Friday 6th June.
Our B Team showed determination and skill, reaching the final of the Cup competition, narrowly missing out on the win to Wormley. Meanwhile, our A Team competed in the Plate competition, making it all the way to the final – and winning it!
Throughout the day, the team spirit, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm shown by all players were a joy to behold. Well done to all who represented our school so well.
Our girls' football team competed in a local tournament, and while we didn’t come home with the trophy this time, the real victory was in the growth, determination, and spirit shown by every player on the pitch. Throughout the competition, the team displayed impressive teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship, making each match an exciting and hard-fought battle.
A special mention to our fantastic goalkeepers Evalyn and Eva and our penalty scorer Lara!
Congratulations to our Year 3 and 4 netballers who represented the school in the District Tournament. Their effort and sportsmanship were evident throughout, and they looked smart in their new kit. The team finished 2nd place and worked well together across the matches. Our footballers also put in a solid performance, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Thank you to Mrs Davidson, Miss Hawthorne and Mr Hancock for their work in preparing the teams and providing these opportunities for the children to develop their skills and confidence through sport.
Thank you to Mr Taylor for coming in and providing some amazing golf sessions for Year 1 and 2 during the Spring term. New skills have been learnt through fun and exciting games and challenges. Thank you very much!
A big well done to our B Team footballers who represented the school this week. They finished third in their group and, although they just missed out on the semi-finals, they ended the tournament on a high note by winning their final game. This secured them fifth place out of nine teams. We are proud of their determination and team spirit. A special thank you to Mr Wilson, Mr Hancock, and Mrs Davidson for their dedication in coaching the team and running the tournament.
On Friday, 21st March, our Year 3 girls joined 100 other girls from across the area to take part in a football festival as part of a sport and activity initiative. The girls had a brilliant time showcasing their skills, working together, and enjoying a range of activities. Thank to Mrs Davidson and Mrs Reynolds for accompanying them and ensuring the event ran smoothly. What a great way to promote teamwork, camaraderie and sportsmanship!
On Tuesday 18th March, our Year 3 and 4 Rapid Fire Cricket team competed in the county final and were brilliant! They played with determination, teamwork, and skill, making it all the way to the overall final. They finished as runners-up for Hertfordshire and their achievement is something to be celebrated. Thank you to Mrs Mills for supporting the team throughout this event and well done to all who represented our school!
Congratulations to our fantastic football A team on their impressive performance last Tuesday. Achieving 3rd place out of 9 schools is a remarkable feat, especially for our small school! Let’s continue to support and celebrate our young athletes, as they represent our school with pride.
Our indoor athletics teams shone last week, and the early morning practices have obviously paid off! Congratulations to our Year 3/4 team who took home first place, and to our Year 5/6 team who came in a strong second out of the 8 schools involved. We looked speedy and smart in our new athletics vests. Some slick baton changing was seen and all team members contributed and played their part – well done, everyone!
We wish our fantastic Year 3/4 Rapid Fire cricket team the best of luck as they head to the county final next Tuesday! After advancing from the District Event a couple of weeks ago, they have already achieved so much. Congratulations to all of them for representing the school so brilliantly!
Our Year 5 and 6 netballers finally had their chance to compete in the rearranged District Tournament! They played brilliantly and finished in 3rd and 4th place – we are so proud of them!
We introduced lacrosse last term to our sports programme! It was fantastic to see the children’s excitement during their first fixture on Thursday. Thank you to Miss Hawthorne and Mrs Davidson for making this happen – your ongoing efforts in providing our children with new sporting experiences are much appreciated!
Last week was another sporty week at Broxbourne and it was excellent to see 26 of our Year 5 and 6 girls represent their houses as the final round of matches took place this Wednesday. Final point totals were: Yellow Foxes with 3 points, third were Green Hedgehogs with 5 points, second were Red Squirrels with 7 points and the winners on this occasion with 9 points were Blue Badgers. Well done to you all for showing up and enjoying the camaraderie of playing sport against each other and congratulations to Blue Badgers on this occasion.
